HOW MUCH MONEY I MADE IN WHOLE FOODS
Hey ,
Here’s exactly how much money I made selling in Whole Foods for a year = $1,056. In 2018 TeaSquares was in 11 Chicagoland Whole Foods locations… let’s break it down:
Total Wholesale Revenue for 2018: $14,700
Avg. Wholesale Sales /store/month: $112
TeaSquares Wholesale COGs ~50%
Gross Revenue /store/month: $56 ($112-56)
Cost of Demos /store/month: $48
Gross Profit /store/month: $8
Our velocity was 12 units/store/week
That’s right, we made about $8 in gross profit selling in each Whole Foods. That's $1,056 for the entire year. This didn’t include any of our overhead expenses. Now Jordan you might say, what if you were selling in ALL 514 Whole Foods Stores with the same cost structure and velocity? Well, we would've made ~$49,300 in gross profit. Better, but STILL barely enough to cover even a minor salary or many overhead expenses.
To succeed in grocery you need volume. First, you need to figure out how to increase your velocity and sales volume at the single-store level.
Then once you figure out a repeatable strategy, you need volume of stores where you can implement the same growth plan.

GRANT FOR CPG FOUNDERS
