💬 Wian van Blommestein : Who would you recommend a founder’s first “hire” be?
🎙 Jordan’s Answer: Making your first hire in a business is a big step. Here are 4 main ways you can bring on help and some considerations
Co-founder• Works best if you’re co-developing an idea together, have the same vision, • and complementary skills• Pay in equity with smaller salary• Can’t get equity back if they’re the wrong fit.
Specialized Employee• Find someone with expertise you don’t have.• Most employees expect full time work and salary.• Do you have enough work for a full time employee? Will they pay for themselves?
Contractor / Freelancer• Good for short term projects• Flexible hours and payment• May be less committed
Agency• A team of experts to help cover an area of the business.• Usually more expensive• You can hire to have them do the setup and “teach” your team, then have someone manage in-houseUse these initial considerations to determine what’s best for your business at this time!
