đź’¬ Hadas Golan Saleh: For a brand with regional distribution: when would you recommend going nation wide?
🎙 Jordan’s Answer: The best thing you can do as an early stage brand is identify product market fit and business model fit.
Product Market Fit is when you create a product that aligns with a strong consumer demand, driving to increased velocity and strong repeat sales. This requires you to tweak your product, messaging, and packaging until you get to a final product with strong velocities and repeat purchase rate.
Business Model Fit is when you can profitably deliver your product considering sales channel, distribution, trade spend, marketing, and profit margin.
My recommendation is to expand beyond your initial region only once you achieve product market fit and business model fit. Its much easier (and cheaper) to test and learn at a smaller scale than nationally.
MANUFACTURING
How to Manufacture Your Beverage Product
Beverage manufacturing is one of the fastest-growing segments in contract manufacturing. The Beverage category is a very competitive market; it has a low barrier to entry for new competitors, high shipping and warehousing costs, and supply chain constraints for glass, aluminum, and cardboard. On the other hand, beverage brands lend themselves to be poised for rapid viral growth amongst other product categories, especially if they achieve product-market fit.
Unlike other products, beverages can be consumed multiple times a day – whether it’s sparkling water or a new seltzer, there is a better chance of a consumer drinking a six-pack in a sitting before they eat six nutrition bars or six bags of popcorn. Simply put, if consumers like a beverage, they buy it often!
SALES
5 Strategies to Boost Retail Sales Velocity
If you’ve been in CPG long enough, you’ve likely been challenged at one point or another when it comes to sales velocity. In CPG, sales velocity is the measure of how quickly a brand’s products sell off the shelf. In other words, it’s that moment when “the rubber meets the road” because it proves that shoppers really do (or don’t) love your products. So, suffice to say, sales velocity is one of the most important metrics that any brand should be tracking.
If you want to dig deeper into what it is and the math behind it, our partner Crisp provides a very helpful detailed breakdown here.

How CPG Brands Can Use Retail Ecommerce Tools to Drive Awareness at Retail
For many consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands, marketing opportunities are valuable – and sometimes limited – assets. Understanding how and when to use these opportunities to drive awareness at retail, either in addition to or instead of their own digital experiences, poses a challenge.
Fortunately, the retail ecommerce channel bridges the gap between these two experiences, offering a best-of-both-worlds solution for increasing awareness.
Let’s explore how CPGs can effectively utilize retail ecommerce to enhance brand visibility, generate interest and trial, and foster a broader audience of retail shoppers.
